Hydes Deploys iC Analytics

Hydes deploys iC analytics to reduce energy use and carbon emissions

North West family-owned brewer Hydes are the latest hospitality operator to utilise Carbon Statement’s iC analytics platform across it’s estate to control and reduce energy consumption and associated carbon emissions.  Hydes on Carbon has been launched to improve efficiency and engage teams in minimising their environmental impact.

Energy is one of the highest operational costs and will increase by 20% by 2020 due to new environmental taxes.  Without action to reduce usage the average operator will face a 0.5% reduction in margins.

To quickly identify where energy waste is occurring across their estate each week and engage teams with the corrective actions, Hydes are deploying iC analytics from Carbon Statement as specialists in the sector.

Reducing energy use will also improve Hydes ranking within the Hospitality Carbon Reduction Forum (HCRF) energy benchmark.  This measures the relative efficiency of over 35 of the major operators in the sector and demonstrates the impact on operational margins.

Chris Hopkins Managing Director of Hydes said; ‘We’ve launched Hydes on Carbon to maximise our resource efficiency through reducing energy use which is a major controllable cost.  We want to support our teams to both improve profitability and minimise our environmental impact through providing them with actionable information each week on eliminating energy waste.’

Carbon Statement

Carbon Statement (www.carbonstatement.com) delivers increased profitability to companies in the Hospitality Sector by reducing energy use.  Through its iC platform, clients are able to identify areas of unnecessary energy consumption across the estate. Carbon Statement then implements a programme to reduce site consumption and improve operating profits through staff engagement, controlling consumption and investing in the right technologies.   The firm’s dedicated team has a proven record of significantly reducing energy consumption for a number of the major operators in the Hospitality Sector.

The Hospitality Sector Carbon Reduction Forum

The forum http://www.carbonstatement.com/hospitality aims to provide an open non-competing environment to discuss issues and share practical measures to reduce carbon emissions from energy, waste and water consumption. The group focuses on both the behavioural and structural changes that are necessary to bring about improved performance and bi annual surveys of members also serve to track overall efficiency in the sector.
