Formed in 1863, we are a brewer and pub retailer with over 150 years of brewing and hospitality expertise. Located in the creative hub of the North – Media City, Salford.
We are an ideal combination of the traditional and the contemporary. Traditionally brewing ales using state of the art equipment, innovative production techniques and modern ingredients, producing an array of the finest quality craft brewed beers.
We operate in excess of 40 pubs covering managed and tenanted houses along with supplying beers nationally to wholesalers, pub companies and other brewers around the country.
Our geographic footprint ranges from Lancaster in the North to Stoke-on Trent in the Midlands and across to North Wales. The style of our pubs includes a wide selection of the best fine dining destination outlets, craft style bars and traditional community pubs.

Through our customer service and continual training programmes, we ensure that our pubs continue to deliver the best possible experiences in high quality environments to our customers.
Our Beers
We have been producing the finest quality beers since 1863 so we know a thing or two about brewing.
However, we are far from being set in our ways! With our state of the art brewing plant and the use of innovative ingredients and techniques, we have a range of craft brewed ales that are contemporary, flavoursome and with over 40 beers produced every year, we offer something for everyone.
Our History
When Alfred and Ralph Hyde purchased a small brewing concern from their Grandfather Thomas Shaw in 1863 they began a family owned dynasty that stretches to the current day. We are proud of our independence and the way in which we have continued to develop and transform our business into the contemporary and successful organisation that it is today.
